Benefits of Outsourcing Your Production

Businesses of all shapes and sizes in a wide range of industries struggle to fill orders. New product production and periods of high demand can present a challenge to even large corporations. Many businesses simply do not have the manpower, space or machinery to keep up with orders.

Outsourcing your production to a contract manufacturer can help you keep up with demand. Outsourcing allows you to create new products without having to purchase new equipment or increase your workforce. Working with a dependable contract manufacturer makes it possible to improve the quality of products produced. This increases customer satisfaction and builds trust in your brand.

Reduce the Costs Associated With Production

Outsourcing is one of the best ways to reduce the costs of production. Contract manufacturers can typically produce products at a much lower cost than producing them in house.

Outsourcing saves you money on equipment, employees and technology. In addition to these savings, an experienced contract manufacturer can analyze your design plans to find unique ways to reduce the cost of production. These changes often improve the quality of the finished product while increasing the efficiency of its production.

Preparing For Unexpected Events

Sometimes businesses experience unexpected accidents or events that leave them unable to continue production. It’s important that companies prepare for this type of situation in advance. Having a reliable contract manufacturer on your side can help ensure that your business operations continue in the event of a disaster. A contract manufacturer can help you produce products until you are able to get back on your feet.

Choosing a Contract Manufacturer to Work With

The contract manufacturer you work with will have a big impact on the quality of products produced. It’s important to choose a company with a reputation for quality and consistency. They should have strict policies in place for quality control. For the best results, select an AS 9100 and ISO 9001 certified contract manufacturer.

There are many contract manufacturers to choose from. Select a company that has experience with multiple industries. The contract manufacturer you work with should be able to produce a wide range of products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Means Engineering Was a Proud Participant at the Honor a Hero, Hire A Vet Job Fair

Last week, Means Engineering, Inc. attended the State of California’s Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet Job and Resource Fair. We are proud to be an employer of several vets. In fact, over 20% of our staff are U.S. veterans.

This year’s event featured employers from a wide range of industries. These employers provided career opportunities to U.S. veterans.

EDD Job Fair For Veterans

The State of California’s Employment Development Department (EDD) holds the annual veteran job fair. The EDD encourages businesses to honor U.S. vets for their service by providing them with employment opportunities. They provide services to both veterans and the employers that hire them. The EDD employs hundreds of U.S. veterans and hope to help many more find rewarding careers in California.

Veterans in California

There are currently 1.8 million veterans living in California. In fact, our state houses more veterans than any other state. 1/3 of all vets living in California have a bachelor’s degree or higher and many vets leave the military with specialized skills and leadership experience. This makes them ideal candidates for a number of positions.

Once veterans leave the military, they must join the civilian workforce. However, it can be difficult for veterans to apply the skills they gained in the military to the civilian sector. This is why many vets remain unemployed.

Hire a Vet

It’s important for employers to consider vets as viable candidates. Many veterans receive extensive training in the military and have a wide range of skills including engineering, IT and security risk management skills. They are able to perform a number of difficult tasks under pressure. In addition to these skills, veterans can make strong leaders and are able to work well as part of a team.

Means Engineering, Inc. is a Southern California contract manufacturer. Our team of professionals is responsible for the design, manufacture and testing of electronic devices for a wide range of industries including the medical, defense and aerospace industries. We are proud to be an AS9100 and ISO 13485 certified contract manufacturer.

We understand the great sacrifices made by the brave men and women that have served in our armed forces. We encourage other companies to follow in our footsteps and consider hiring a vet.

Producing Electronics for the Defense Industry

Electronics are becoming more important for every industry. In the defense industry, electronic devices are used for communication, navigation and the collection of important data. Reliability and quality are crucial when developing electronics for this important industry.

Electronics technology is constantly evolving. Military devices are getting smaller and more functional. The design and manufacture of electronics is focused on improving quality while reducing costs and power consumption.

Military Electronics

Military electronics are often used for long periods of time. They must be able to withstand extreme conditions. Any defect or failure could have serious consequences. Manufacturers producing electronic devices for the defense industry must keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

Many military and defense professionals want the same electronic devices they use in their personal lives to be available in their professional lives as well. As a result, wearable electronics are being used more frequently by the defense industry.

Defense Industry Electronics

The defense industry has been leaning towards a purely digital mindset for years. Portable technologies enable military professionals to access critical information and become more efficient. New technologies can be used to enhance workflows and create new opportunities for the industry. These technologies reduce the chance of error and completely eliminate the need for travel.

Electronic products must be smaller, cheaper and faster if military companies wish to remain competitive. Most electronics manufacturers strive to create smaller, lighter products with increased flexibility and portability.

Protection of information is a top concern to military and defense professionals. Electronic systems should be able to reduce cross-channel interference.

Testing Military Products

Military products require sophisticated testing equipment. All devices and electronic components must be thoroughly tested to ensure quality and reliability. Due to limited defense budgets, the cost of electronics must be kept to a minimum as well. Strict budget and testing requirements create a number of challenges for electronics manufacturers. It’s important that the company chosen to produce electronic devices has prior experience with the defense industry.
